Sharing is Caring at Team Friday.

After ten years of honing our communication approach, we’re ready to share what we’ve learned about community, communications, and changing the narrative.

We’re not a boastful bunch. I jokingly say - we’re like the “shoemaker’s daughters” - Quietly working away to be the change we wish to see in the world by advising and creating meaningful creative “stuff” for our clients, partners, and audiences for a decade. But we recognized that we could play gatekeeper with what we’ve learned or share the innovative approaches we’ve developed to help meet pressing communication challenges.

My post is helping launch our new blog series - written directly by our team members - those working daily with our clients to create strategies and designs that ignite change and connection.

We hold ourselves to incredible standards – and our approach to “the work” is no exception. Although we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach with our clients, we approach all projects through the following frameworks:

  • Research + Discovery

    • Understanding where you are in the world and what your customer, community, and workforce think is essential.

  • Level-setting

    • This is shorthand for our starting point - so we can be super clear in the next phase and get you the desired results.

  • Strategy

    • The “S” word. It’s the roadmap we create to get you to points A, B, C, and maybe D. We look at things holistically from the discovery and level-setting and develop plans for use in the long haul.

  • Implementation

    • This phase is when the strategy comes to life. When all the research, auditing, process, and design meet and get rolled out. We keep a watchful eye here – measuring, tinkering, and adapting creative solutions in real time.

  • Building Beyond

    • After we deploy the work, we get honest about what worked and didn’t. We don’t just look at the measurements; we discuss the sentiments and feelings of a campaign and ask questions. How can we do better? What do we need to refine? What would building from this better place look like than where we started?

Since Team Friday began in 2012, we’ve been obsessed with listening and learning. We are never ones to parachute in - we believe a genuine connection to any cause or brand requires the authenticity of approach and a commitment of time and resources.

As a team, we know humans and how they move are ever-changing. Our team philosophy is to do 80% listening and 20% doing – because research is different from strategy, and strategy is different from tactics. All are important, and all require constant investigation.

We look forward to sharing more insights on what we’ve learned and are continuing to explore.
